HOW TO YOYO.com was started in the beginning of 2004 by Harper Reed and Mark Hayward. This website is run for the love of yo-yoing and to help spread the word of yo.

• Who are we?

A Chicago fashion icon, Harper Reed is a force to be reconed with. He’s a software engineer by day, but that leaves his nights open for nothin’ but yo-yos! …and the ladies. Originally from someplace in Colorado, Harper has been yo-yoing for eons. He’s a BIG fan of unresponsive yo-yos, and is easily excited.

Mark Hayward is a World Yo-yo Champion, a Spin Top Champion, a member of a World Champion Juggling Team, and a self-proclaimed Cool Guy. He has been a yo-yoer since he received a Hummingbird Hol-yo-gram yo-yo in his stocking for Christmas in 1988. Mark is a full time, professional juggler and yo-yo guy, a member of the Duncan Crew, and he lives in Pittsburgh PA. You can see his professional website here: www.markhayward.net

• Why do we sell so few yo-yos?

Mark’s Grandfather had a lot of wacky sayings, and one of his favorites was “K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple Stupid!” The whole point of howtoyoyo.com is to help beginners learn yo-yo tricks, so when we decided to have yo-yos for sale we wanted to keep it simple and offer some great yo-yos for beginners without overwhelming newcomers with too many choices.

The goal of our online store is to offer a carefully selected, small group of yo-yos for beginners and intermediate yo-yo players. We have chosen what we think are the absolute best yo-yos for anyone who is just starting out, so if that describes you, we have your yo-yo.

At the moment there is no howtoyoyo.com team other than Harper and Mark, but we like to think that at a moment’s notice we could assemble the most amazing and hilarious yo-yo team to ever grace the Earth. It’s probably true too.
